Badges are small rewards for what you actually do around STYGION: making friends, reporting bugs, sending ideas, playing on our worlds. You find them in the launcher on the **Badges** page (in the left rail and in Ctrl K) and on the site in your account.

> [!NOTE]
> Badges need a **STYGION ID**. Without one the page shows nothing and nothing is counted. The launcher works as before when you are signed out.

## Who counts them

**STYGION ID** counts them, not the launcher, from what it already records (friends, reports, ideas, time on our worlds). That is why badges are **the same on every computer** and cannot be faked by editing files.

## Steps and the showcase

- A badge with several steps is **three badges**: for example **Sailor I, II and III** (**copper, brass, gold**). Each has its own condition ("Row 5,000 blocks"), its own date earned and its own rarity.
- Every badge shows how many percent of players have it ("X % of players"). The rarer it is, the more it is worth on the leaderboard.
- Game badges are counted from your world's **game statistics**, and the bars are set so the first step asks for more than a few hours of play and the third is truly rare. Crafter counts crafting-table use; Survivor counts hours of play without dying.
- The **showcase** is up to **three badges** you want to show on your profile. You pick them on the Badges page.

## Leaderboard

The page has two tabs: **Collection** and **Leaderboard**.

- The leaderboard switches between the **current season** and **overall**.
- Points follow **rarity**: a rare badge is worth more than a common one.
- Your own place sits on top, so you do not have to hunt for it.
- A public leaderboard is on the site too, [stygion.eu/badges](https://stygion.eu/badges). Every row opens that person's **profile** there: the badges they show, when each was earned, how rare it is, and their numbers for the season. Only public collections have one; for anybody else (friends only, nobody, badges off, no such account) the site says the same thing, "this profile is not public", so it never reveals which it was.

## Seasons

**Game badges from STYGION MC belong to a season.** Season 1 is Aeronautics. A new season counts from zero and past ones stay yours. Badges that are not about the game (friends, reports, ideas) do not follow seasons.

## Friends and Compare

A friend's profile shows their showcase (if they show it) and a **Compare** button: which badges you **both** have, which **only you** and which **only they** have. No score, no "who won".

## Privacy

Everything is in **Settings → Badges**, and you can always change your mind:

- **Who sees your badges:** Public / Friends / Nobody.
- **Hide a single badge** you would rather not show.
- **Switch badges off entirely.**
- **The public leaderboard** has a switch of its own: here, or on the site under Your account → Badges. If you step out of the leaderboard, your collection stays as it is.

## Notices

When you earn a badge the launcher can tell you with a **toast**, with **just a dot**, or **not at all**. You can also turn the sound off and choose how hidden badges show. **Nothing interrupts a game.**

## Secret and rare badges

- **Secret badges** give nothing away: until you have one, you cannot tell what it is or how to get it.
- **Rare badges** are given **by hand by VOIDIVIDE**. They have a picture of their own, a little motion and a piece number ("#1 of 3"). Why you got one, only you can see.

## If something looks off

No badge arrived, or the page is empty? Check that you are signed in with STYGION ID and that badges are not switched off in Settings → Badges. Still stuck? Send it through the Feedback button in the title bar.
