STYGION Launcher a0.8.2-dev.62 · Updates

The launcher is not slow any more. We were denying the WebView the GPU on every Linux machine to work around one bug that only affects NVIDIA's proprietary driver. Anybody who never had that bug paid for the safety by having the whole interface repainted on the CPU. It is now switched off only where the bug lives. If a window draws strangely, STYGION_SOFTWARE_RENDER=1 brings the old behaviour back.
Signing in opens a browser — and says so when it cannot. Inside an AppImage, xdg-open breaks against the libraries the bundle carries, so no browser came up while the launcher went on saying "finish it in your browser". It now tries every opener a desktop has, in an environment we have not broken — and when none of them works, the screen says so and offers the address with a copy button. Both Microsoft and STYGION ID.

Back from a modpack means back, not back to the beginning. The back arrow on a pack cleared the search, reset the source and the sort and reloaded the catalog. It now returns you to where you were — including your place in the list.
Panels open in the middle of the window. On the home screen the title bar has a blurred backdrop, which in a browser makes it the frame for anything inside it — so the account dialog was pressed into the top strip with half of it out of sight. Panels are drawn over the whole window now, whatever opened them.

The release channel is called stable. Among four channels in which every entry is a release, the word said nothing about what you were choosing. Its versions carry s instead of r (s0.8.2). Older launchers still saying release are served exactly as before.
