First run

Open the address the installer printed. The first time, the panel takes you straight into the setup wizard — until an account exists there is nobody to sign in.

The owner

You give an email, a name and a password. This first account is the owner: it can do everything, including the things nobody else may, and it cannot be deleted.

The wizard runs once. Once an account exists that screen is gone and the address leads to a sign-in.

If you put the panel on the internet and the wizard has not run yet, do it now. Before the first account the panel turns nobody away, because it has nothing to turn them away with.

The panel's accounts are its own

This decision is worth an extra sentence, because it differs from most products shaped like this one.

The panel holds its own accounts and never holds them anywhere else. You sign in to your panel, on your machine, against your database. When STYGION is unreachable, when your subscription lapses, when you decide you want nothing further to do with us — you can still get in.

A STYGION ID is a different thing and is linked separately: it carries the subscription, not the sign-in. It is described in Subscription.

Our being down must never be you being locked out. That is why it is built this way.

Roles

Three, separated by what they may do:

Owner — everything. One per panel.

Admin — runs the panel: creates and deletes servers, manages accounts, settings, updates and nodes.

User — sees the servers that are theirs, and any that were shared with them, and operates them as far as the share allows. Cannot create new ones; those arrive from the operator, or through the shop.

What you are looking at

Dashboard is the list of servers — yours, and any shared with you. Empty the first time, with a pointer to where to start.

A server has its own tabs — console, files, databases, schedules, users, backups, network, startup, settings, activity. You are shown only the ones you have the permission for.

Admin is the state of the machine, accounts, eggs, updates, nodes and settings.

Settings is your own account, appearance, sessions — and the panel's subscription.

The free week

It runs from the install, seven days, and needs nothing at all. No connection, no account with us, no card.

When it ends, exactly one thing locks: creating new servers. Signing in, the console, files, backups, schedules and deleting all carry on. What is running for you never stops running because of what our servers think.
